My name is Hanna; a student at the University of Washington. double majoring in Communication and Political Science. I am very passionate humanitarian and advocacy work for generally underprivileged and underrepresented minorities – specifically immigrant communities. I am fluent in Somali and can read & write Arabic. Also I want to teach myself Hindi and Japanese – through TV
.
Professionally I have worked with non-profit organizations including Neighborhood house – an agency that aims to help low-income individuals and families become self-sufficient. In addition, I am the current Co-Host at local non-profit television station – SOM-TV which aims to provide news and entertainment for the growing Somali population in the Washington State.
Personally I love to travel and would love to go on a trip around the world. I have been to three continents and eight countries (only about 185 to go).
I wholeheartedly believe that personal development/enlightenment or growth are the first steps to having a real impact in the your environment as well as in the lives of the people around you. My personal motto: “be the change you wish to see” - Mahatma Ghandi.
Hanna, I am very interested in reading more! You write with your heart, and your bright eyes reflect it. All the very best with everything.
Thank you Priya!
Your world inspires me to create a world of mine!
